Welcome To The UpperRoom Experience

I want to personally thank you for visiting our website. Here at the Upper Room Church we are dedicated to delivering, equipping and empowering God’s people to advance the Kingdom of God.

In Mark 16:17-18, Jesus says “And these signs; shall follow them that believe; In my name they shall cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

At the Upper Room Church we experience these signs and wonders regularly.  We are eager to show the world that this power did not die out with the first apostles but is present now.

You are welcome to experience the power of God at one of our 3 weekly services.

Sincerely,
Prophet Franklin D. Battle, Sr.

Upper Room Church Senior Pastor

OUR BELIEFS

GOD

We believe in one God.  He is the creator and sustainer of all things. He is the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ (Genesis 1, 1 Timothy 2:5).

JESUS

Jesus is the son of God.  He is the image of the invisible God, the first born of every creature (Colossians 1:15). He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (Luke 1:35).  He lived a blameless life (Hebrews 4:15), died on the cross (John 16:14-42), and was resurrected from the dead to redeem everyone who would believe in him (Matthew 28:1-10).

THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit has many purposes. He was sent by God the Father to convict the world of sin (John 16:8), to dwell inside believers (1 Corinthians 3:16), and to empower the church to demonstrate the power of God in the earth (Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 2:4, Ephesians 1:19).

SALVATION

God provides salvation (forgiveness & redemption from sin) to every human being only through believing in Jesus Christ (John 3:16-21, John 14:6, Acts 4:12).

EVANGELISM

Jesus commands the church to make disciples of all nations. It is every child of God’s duty to actively compel unbelievers to have faith in Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:47-49, John 20:21, Acts 1:8).

THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit imparts various gifts to believers. The purposes of these gifts are to edify the church (1 Corinthians 14:12) and advance of the kingdom of God.  Scripture lists nine major gifts:  the word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits, gifts of faith, working of miracles, gifts of healing, gifts of tongues, interpretations of tongues, and prophecy  (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).

DELIVERANCE

Jesus declares in Luke 4:8 that he came to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.  Jesus and his disciples delivered and healed the people of God by casting out demons (Matthew 8:16, Mark 1:23-27, Matthew 8:28-33, Mark 3:15-16, Matthew 10:1, Mark 6:7).  Deliverance from demonic spirits is a vital aspect of the gospel because it enforces the fact that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).
